The Mysterious Chronicle of Star Trek: Picard

After working as a top U.S official on key posts, what adventurous journey is awaiting for Picard as he is coming back? After 17 years old absence from the small screen, the Starfleet officer and the U.S diplomat are all set to make a comeback in Alex Kurtzman’s web series Star Trek: Picard. Made for CBS All Access, the series will intend to focus Jean-Luc Picard’s life bringing Patrick Stewart back in action for the decades-old character after a long period of time. Produced by CBS Television Studios, the new series will keep the fans busy for another three years with every season composed of at least ten episodes meaning there is a lot to be shown to the fans.

The driving force behind the USS Enterprise-D and USS Enterprise-E and the sole figure responsible for popularizing the Star Trek Picard Jackets, Picard has made several appearances in a number of films ever since his character was introduced on the big screen. Although developments have been made in terms of making the upcoming show as the greatest one for Picard, sources have not been aware of the actual plot. Set to release on the 23red of January, the web series would at least allow Patrick Stewart to extend the Picard collection of outerwear which was last updated when the Jean-Luc Picard Star Trek Picard Jacket made one of the oldest entries.

And Patrick Stewart Said Yes

In the pre-development phase, Patrick Stewart was believed to be uninterested in portraying Picard’s role, who he portrayed for years, which forced Kurtzman to try his level best to make the actor say yes for another addition to the Star Trek series. After getting a green signal from Stewart for a three-page document representing Kurtzman’s ideas, the filmmaker ended up filling 34 pages instead. In his own words, “It turned into a 34-page document — with no way to shorten it. We were going on all in and he was going to read it or not read it, love it or hate it. It was our best attempt at trying to get him to say yes.” Now the crucial most stage came where the filmmaking panel was waiting for the approval. After going through a bunch of pages and reading whatever Kurtzman had proposed, the 79 years old actor from Mirfield, United Kingdom agreed to join the Star Trek team.

Happened during a meeting in March 2018, this has been very well explained by the director himself! “He walked into the room and he had a huge smile on his face and said, ‘This is wonderful’. What he understood at that point … was that he was with people who desperately wanted to collaborate with him, that we weren’t trying to exploit him. He knew if he was going to go back to Picard, it needed to be for the greatest reason ever.”

Who is appearing alongside Stewart in the mega-blockbuster series?

When we talk of the super exciting Star Trek series, the full cast list is impossible to mention. However, we are more than just thankful to makers for providing us with a few names leading Star Trek: Picard. The returning cast includes Brent Spiner as Data, Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine and Jonathan Del Arco as Hugh whereas the major list of the cast is comprised of Isa Briones as Dah, Santiago Cabrera as Cristobal, Alison Pill as Dr. Agnes Jurati and Michelle Hurd as Raffi Musiker. Assuming the month of January is only a few weeks away from arriving, the fans are desperate to watch Patrick Stewart commanding the ships and appearing in an outfit containing something as cool as the Jean Luc Star Trek Picard Jacket to bring a change to the Picard collection.
